Imagine a world where all children have a community in which to grow and learn.
This project, global in scope, creates intentional communities that provide foster children lasting family relationships and solid cultural connections. Using a model similar to Judy Cockerton's Treehouse Foundation, a Massachusetts-based organization, and partnering with the International Foster Care Organisation-- we want to create hundreds, if not thousands, of connected communities dedicated to the development of parentless children.
We believe that these communities should also include Elders. In lieu of retirement communities, seniors would have an opportunity to impart their experience, wisdom, and time with younger generations.
We wish for these communities to come together and co-create a village that celebrates their culture. At the village center could be a library, an art space, a dining hall, performance spaces and even classrooms. Communities could build soccer fields or ball diamonds, healing centers or media centers.
These communities can create a network to share resources, hold cultural exchanges, and facilitate educational experiences and for all residents.
